The words I have chosen to base this project around are: The Corner shop in the Personal column, Alice in wonderland in the Creative column, for processes I have chosen Heatpress, Digital Print, Pattern cutting, Stand work & drawing and the Materials; Non woven fabrics and plastics.
I began my initial research by mind mapping my two main themes in order to break down the meanings and extract the not so obvious factors. I focused around the symbolic factors in Alice in Winderland the idea of this novel written by Lutwdge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll of it being an adult book rather than a children's fantasy book due to recurring symbols of drug use.
My concept was to create a series of prints, drawings and designs to accompany my final garment design keeping it under the influence of child's play/ fantasy, keeping it fun.

The above image shows observational sketches of symbols mentioned in the novel and also shown in the movie 'Thr mushroom is Magic' suggests Hallucegenics as well as the 'red pill & blue pill' which during the 19th century was the era of legal opium use. I began to link the idea of the 'mushroom' with a mushroom cloud also known as the effect of an atomic bomb.

This sample was achieved recycling sweet wrappers placing them between two sheets of PVC almost as though preserving them just as the the novel preserved the young adolescents youth and culture as they reminisce in their older years passing down the story.
